Interview mit Ferret Baudoin, Lead Designer, Bioware Last year's Dragon Age: Origins told an epic fantasy tale of a world torn apart by both a monstrous invasion and a traitor's civil war. As a Grey Warden, your character defeated the threat of the evil darkspawn--the ugly monsters from the depths of Earth that threatened to overrun the kingdom--and reunited the shattered country. However, in Awakening, you find that the darkspawn threat hasn't ended--there are rumors of a darkspawn general who thinks, speaks, and organizes his forces into an army while spawning a whole new battalion of enemies. Lead designer Ferret Baudoin explains what to expect. |

Interview mit Ferret Baudoin, Lead Designer, Bioware There was a time when retail expansion packs were expected whenever a PC video game reached a certain level of success. Thanks to the rise of console systems and the ease at which content can be delivered digitally, the content-rich expansions we grew up playing through are nearly a thing of the past. I say nearly because next week we'll be receiving Awakening, a standard off-the-shelf addon for last year's excellent Dragon Age: Origins. |

Interview mit Fernando Melo, Online Producer, Bioware Gamasutra caught up with online producer Fernando Melo to discuss the thinking behind selling Awakening as such a significant expansion. He explained that, while the actual content within the add-on has been in the works since before Origins was released, the delivery method took longer to determine -- and fan feedback contributed heavily to the final decision. |

Interview mit Fernando Melo, Online Producer, Bioware This new one, Awakening, is the first to pick up where Dragon Age: Origins ended. Apparently the death of the Archdemon didn't spell the end of the Darkspawn, and as that little issue leads to a whole new adventure, you pick up a new party of compatriots and work to rebuild the Grey Wardens along the way. [...] I had a chance to talk with Melo about the Awakening project, the series' over-the-top gore, the expansion's romantic prospects (dim), and much more.... |
